Construction Industry Council members were updated on developments at their monthly meeting held recently at the Fiji National University. CIC President Gordon Jenkins said that CIC is growing from strength to strength “following the success” of its conference held at the Warwick last June.
The meeting was told by CIC President Gordon Jenkins that positive developments are now in the works that could include funding by Government, a permanent office at the Fiji National University and the launching of a nine separate task groups to begin the review of resolutions that emanated from the conference.
“There has been an increased interest in CIC’s future especially from the Government. We have proposed a five-year operational budget to Government that is now with them for consideration.
This follows meetings held with the head of the Ministry of Economy’s Construction Implementation Unit, Shah Mohammed and his team.
